Our Experts

Heather Shalayko

Owner, HHP, CWP, CLC

Heather Shalayko is a Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Lactation Counselor. Heather has a Bachelors of Science in Wellness, Health Promotion, and Injury Prevention from Oakland University and she is currently completing her Masters Degree.  Heather has worked in the health and wellness field for over 12 years in the community, government, institutional, private and non-profit sectors.  Heather is a mom to two beautiful girls and loves the outdoors. Heather and her husband Steve both grew up and graduated from Oxford High School and she is so happy to be back here, as a small business owner.

Heather is looking forward to bringing her experience teaching mindfulness, nutrition, and various physical activity programs to the Simple Organics community. One of her favorite programs she teaches is Cooking with Kids, a family based nutrition program. “I have found that when families learn together, they’re much more likely to make those healthy behavior changes and be successful together.” Heather wants Simple to continue to be a staple for health and wellness in the community and move toward an overall wellness center. Simple Organics will have biweekly breastfeeding hours starting in October where new moms and expecting moms can come in, sip on some tea, and get breastfeeding support for free. When Heather had her two daughters she struggled to find breastfeeding support. Heather wants to change that and support new moms to successfully breastfeed for as long as they want to!
