Our Experts

Heather Shalayko

Owner, HHP, CWP, CLC

Heather Shalayko is a Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Lactation Counselor. Heather has a Bachelors of Science in Wellness, Health Promotion, and Injury Prevention from Oakland University and she is currently completing her Masters Degree.  Heather has worked in the health and wellness field for over 12 years in the community, government, institutional, private and non-profit sectors.  Heather is a mom to two beautiful girls and loves the outdoors. Heather and her husband Steve both grew up and graduated from Oxford High School and she is so happy to be back here, as a small business owner.

Heather is looking forward to bringing her experience teaching mindfulness, nutrition, and various physical activity programs to the Simple Organics community. One of her favorite programs she teaches is Cooking with Kids, a family based nutrition program. “I have found that when families learn together, they’re much more likely to make those healthy behavior changes and be successful together.” Heather wants Simple to continue to be a staple for health and wellness in the community and move toward an overall wellness center. Simple Organics will have biweekly breastfeeding hours starting in October where new moms and expecting moms can come in, sip on some tea, and get breastfeeding support for free. When Heather had her two daughters she struggled to find breastfeeding support. Heather wants to change that and support new moms to successfully breastfeed for as long as they want to!

Product Details

We shrunk our popular SPF 30 Sport Mineral Sunscreen Lotion into an ultra-convenient 1 oz. travel size tube. This sunscreen is made from a reef friendly blend of zinc oxide and botanical ingredients. It is also super hydrating and easy to rub in thanks to our blend of organic coconut oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter. No more chalky or greasy skin from regular sun screens, our Sport Mineral Sunscreen blends right in.

And like our 1 oz. tubes of SPF 30 Sport Mineral Sunscreen Lotion, good things come in small packages. This little tube packs broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection into day packs, cycling jerseys, ski jackets, and those little hidden pockets in waistbands. Bonus: it goes the extra mile with a commitment to reef-friendly ingredients that hydrate and repair skin. Small, but mighty.

Benefits of Our SPF 30 Sport Mineral Sunscreen:

  • Topical mineral sunscreen for face or body
  • UVA/UVB broad spectrum sun protection
  • Oxybenzone-free, made with only Reef Friendly ingredients
  • Protection from HEV (blue light) from video calls and screens
  • Water Resistant (80 minutes)

We pulled a Wayne Szalinski and shrunk our popular SPF 30 Sport Mineral Sunscreen Lotion into a 1oz travel size tube. Made from a reef-friendly blend of zinc oxide and botanical ingredients, our popular Sport Mineral Sunscreen is super hydrating and easy to rub in thanks to a blend of organic coconut oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter. When reapplying on the go, this face and body sunscreen blends in clear and won’t leave your skin chalky or greasy.

So it may be small, but oh is it mighty. This mineral-based sunscreen offers full spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays and water-resistant protection for 80 minutes. Bonus: Other organic ingredients like green tea, rose hips, and buriti oil actually repair damaged skin from sunburn and windburn (how many sunscreens can do THAT?) and the gentle formula won’t clog your pores. Big protection knows no limits.

Unlike conventional chemical sunscreens that are harmful to humans and marine life, All Good mineral sunscreen products are made with the active ingredient, zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is a topical, non-nanoparticle, mineral-based ingredient that sits on top of your skin and won’t absorb into your body; it is one of only two ingredients that has been FDA-approved for general recognition of safety and effectiveness (GRASE)*. All or our All Good reef-friendly suncare products meet broad-spectrum FDA standards and reef safe criteria. Our ingredients do not include chemical UV absorbers, parabens or harmful additives (and especially no octinoxate, oxybenzone, and the other chemicals in the “Awful Eight”). What’s good for Nemo is good for you.

*The FDA is asking for more safety data on 12 additional active sunscreen ingredients in order to determine whether they can be classified as GRASE. We’ll do our best to keep you informed as soon as we hear more!
